The Illinois Shakespeare Festival

The nationally acclaimed Illinois Shakespeare Festival draws approximately 15,000 patrons each summer to view performances under the stars.  The Festival produces three plays each summer, and has expanded to include a family green show, music, post-performance discussions, and a touring company.

Pre-performance picnicking on the grounds at Ewing Cultural Center has become a cherished tradition of the Illinois Shakespeare Festival.  Patrons may bring their food or purchase it in the Manor’s courtyard during the season.  For a truly unique and elegant evening, educational, nonprofit, and business organizations may rent rooms in Ewing Manor for dining prior to the performance.  A gazebo that can seat up to 12 is available for rental by any theatre goer.
